What ducted work has Delta Temp done in Peregian Beach?
We have installed and replaced ducted systems in Peregian Beach homes, and fitted a Samsung 12.5 kW system on a new build for a builder. Brands include Mitsubishi Electric, Samsung and Daikin, in sizes from 5 kW up to 18 kW.
One home had Mitsubishi Electric systems of different sizes, with AirTouch 5, a ducting upgrade and rustproofing. Another was an 18 kW Mitsubishi Electric with AirTouch 5. There was also a 14 kW Daikin replacement. Peregian Beach is close to the ocean, and salt air is hard on outdoor units and fittings, which is why rustproofing is worth asking about on a coastal install.

Does rustproofing matter for ducted air conditioning near the beach?
Near the coast, salt air attacks outdoor units and metal fittings over time. On one Peregian Beach home we included rustproofing with the installation. We can talk through whether it suits your property at the free site inspection.
Rustproofing is not a replacement for good placement. Where the outdoor unit sits, how exposed it is to onshore wind and how it is mounted all matter. We look at those at the inspection. Salt exposure is also why the warranty terms are worth reading: our 10 year workmanship warranty covers defects in our installation work only, not equipment faults, fair wear and tear or lack of servicing. Full terms are at deltatemp.com.au/warranty/.
How is a ducted job quoted in Peregian Beach?
We book a free site inspection first and give a fixed quote after it. Most Sunshine Coast homes land between $11,000 and $18,000 installed, and larger homes can reach about $22,000, depending on home size, zones and roof space.
Builders get the same process as homeowners. We look at the roof space, the zones and the layout, then quote. If the project involves replacing an older system, we look at the existing ducting at the inspection, because one Peregian Beach job included a ducting upgrade. Finance through humm is available, always subject to approval by humm. Call 1800 335 828.

How do I size a ducted system for a larger home?
We add up the heat load of every zoned room at about 150 W per square metre, then size at about 70% of that total, because zones are never all running flat out at once. Larger homes can need 16 kW or 18 kW.
A 12.5 kW suits 5 zones, about 120 m2 of zoned rooms, and a 14 kW suits 6 zones, about 130 m2. Past that, 16 kW and above takes a 900 x 550 return grille, while 10 to 14 kW takes 900 x 500. The inspection adjusts for insulation, glass, ceiling height and orientation. Some larger Peregian Beach homes have been split across more than one system rather than one big unit.
