What ducted installs have you done in Pelican Waters?
In Pelican Waters we have installed ducted systems in homes, a replacement 14 kW Fujitsu, a Hisense in a new build for a builder, and a larger Fujitsu for a business or body corporate. Sizes ran from 10 kW to 20 kW, and most had AirTouch 5.
The larger systems at 16 kW and 20 kW were mostly Mitsubishi Electric. One job included a ducting upgrade and a post install inspection. Pelican Waters is a coastal area, so salt air is a fact of life for outdoor units, and it is worth raising with us at the inspection.

Do you install ducted systems for builders?
Yes. In Pelican Waters we fitted a 16 kW Hisense ducted system in a new build for a builder. For builders we quote the same way, from a free site inspection, and the quote is fixed after it. Hisense carries a 7 year manufacturer warranty on parts and labour.
New builds are easier to plan when ducted is considered early. Ceiling height, zoning and return air all affect the design, so the sooner we see the job, the better. Our installation carries a 10 year workmanship warranty covering defects in our installation work only, with full terms at deltatemp.com.au/warranty/.
What size ducted system suits a Pelican Waters home?
We add up the heat load of every zoned room at about 150 W per square metre, then size the system at about 70% of that total, because the zones are never all running flat out at once. A 12.5 kW system suits 5 zones, about 120 m2 of zoned rooms.
A 14 kW suits 6 zones, about 130 m2, which is the same layout plus a media room or similar. Bigger homes go to 16 kW and above, and our return air rule of thumb is a 900 x 500 grille up to 14 kW and a 900 x 550 from 16 kW. The inspection adjusts for insulation, glass, ceiling height and orientation.

How does a ducted quote work in Pelican Waters?
We book a free site inspection before we quote. We look at the home and what it needs, and the quote is fixed after the inspection. Call 1800 335 828 to arrange it. We service the Sunshine Coast from Caboolture to Noosa.
Quotes often come as options, such as different sizes or brands, with or without AirTouch 5 zone control. If finance helps, humm is available, always subject to approval by humm. We are QBCC licensed, ARC authorised and insured, and our team can also look after solar, battery and electrical work under one workmanship warranty.
