How many storeys?
Whether one ducted system can serve both levels needs to be explored at the site inspection. It depends on where the ducts can run, and some homes are better with a system per level.

Lounge, family, media or rumpus rooms. Kitchen and dining count as one.

- Calculating the heat load room by room
An indicative guide based on typical Sunshine Coast homes. Your real system is sized from a heat load of your actual home at a free site inspection, because roof access, insulation and orientation all change the answer.
Why we size from the space, not the bedroom count.
Capacity (kW)
How much heat the system can move. Too small and it runs flat out without reaching temperature. Too big and it short cycles, leaving the air cool but damp.
Zones
Groups of rooms you can switch on and off. We usually zone each bedroom and living area, so bedrooms can run overnight while the rest of the house is off.
Return air
Where the system breathes in. It has to be big enough for the unit, so larger systems often split the return across two grilles to stay quiet and efficient.
