What ducted installs have you done in Maroochydore?
We have fitted ducted systems in Maroochydore homes and done fit off work for a builder on new builds. The home systems were Mitsubishi Electric, in sizes from 10 kW to 14 kW, and most had an AirTouch 5 zone controller. One home job also included a plaster repair.
Builder work is a different job to a home retrofit. On a new build the ductwork and outlets go in at the right stage, and the system is fitted off once the house is ready. Home jobs can mean working around an existing roof space and finished rooms. Both need the same thing: a system sized to the zones, with the returns and ducts planned before anything is cut.

What size ducted system suits a Maroochydore home?
We add up the heat load of every zoned room at about 150 W per square metre, then size the system at about 70% of that total, because zones are never all running flat out at once. A 12.5 kW system suits 5 zones, and a 14 kW suits 6 zones.
A 12.5 kW system suits 5 zones, being 4 bedrooms plus an open kitchen, living and dining, about 120 m2 of zoned rooms. A 14 kW suits 6 zones, the same plus a media room or similar, about 130 m2. Return air matters as well. A 10 to 14 kW system takes a 900 x 500 return grille, and 16 kW and above takes a 900 x 550. The inspection adjusts for insulation, glass, ceiling height and orientation.
Why choose an AirTouch 5 zone controller?
AirTouch 5 lets you control each zone separately, so you cool the rooms you are using and leave the others off. Most of our Maroochydore home installs included it. It suits families with bedrooms used at night and living areas used by day.
Zoning is also why sizing works at about 70% of the total room load. The zones are never all running flat out at once, so a bigger unit would cost more without making the house more comfortable. During the site inspection we agree which rooms become zones, and where the controller and outlets will sit.

How do you quote ducted air conditioning in Maroochydore?
Every ducted quote starts with a free site inspection. We check the roof space, the zones and the home itself, then the quote is fixed after the inspection. Most Sunshine Coast homes land between $11,000 and $18,000 installed, and larger homes can reach about $22,000, depending on home size, zones and roof space.
The exact price comes from the inspection. Finance through humm is available, always subject to approval by humm. Systems carry the manufacturer warranty plus our 10 year workmanship warranty, which covers defects in our installation work only. Full terms are at deltatemp.com.au/warranty/.
