What have you installed in Minyama?
In Minyama we have worked on homes and on new builds for builders. The ducted work is Mitsubishi Electric at 10 kW and 20 kW, with AirTouch 5 on most. One builder job also had a 2.5 kW Mitsubishi wall mounted split, and another included a split system in the site shed.
The ground floor fit off on a new build covered various systems with standard inclusions, with an AirTouch 5 upgrade to all of them. The home installs were a 10 kW Mitsubishi Electric with AirTouch 5 and a 20 kW Mitsubishi Electric, which is a large system. A fit off is the final stage of the install, when the indoor units, grilles and controls go in.

Can a builder get a ducted quote for a new build in Minyama?
Yes. We have fitted air conditioning on Minyama new builds for builders. Every ducted quote starts with a free site inspection, and the quote is fixed after it. The inspection lets us check the roof space and the zones before any numbers are given.
Most Sunshine Coast homes land between $11,000 and $18,000 installed, and larger homes can reach about $22,000, depending on home size, zones and roof space. A builder's project may differ, which is why the number comes from the inspection and not from a rule of thumb. Call 1800 335 828, or use deltatemp.com.au, to book. We are QBCC licensed and ARC authorised.
What size ducted system does a Minyama house need?
We add up the heat load of every zoned room at about 150 W per square metre, then size the system at about 70% of that total. Zones are never all running flat out together, so the system can be smaller than the full sum.
A 12.5 kW suits 5 zones, about 120 m2 of zoned rooms. A 14 kW suits 6 zones, about 130 m2. Our Minyama home installs ran from 10 kW to 20 kW, so size depends heavily on the house. The inspection adjusts for insulation, glass, ceiling height and orientation, which is why we measure on site and do not guess from a floor plan alone.

Do I need a zone controller on a ducted system?
You do not need one, but most Minyama jobs have AirTouch 5. It is a zone controller that lets you turn zones on and off from a screen. On one new build it was fitted to every system.
Zoning is what lets a ducted system suit a real household. Bedrooms can be closed off by day, and living areas by night. The same Delta Temp team can also do solar, batteries and electrical work, all under one workmanship warranty. Installations carry a 10 year workmanship warranty, covering defects in our installation work only. Terms are at deltatemp.com.au/warranty/.
