What ducted systems has Delta Temp installed in D'Aguilar?
We have installed 12.5 kW and 14 kW ducted systems in D'Aguilar. Most were Mitsubishi Electric, and one was a Samsung 12.5 kW system. They went into homes and into a business or body corporate property, and most were fitted with AirTouch 5 zone control.
The Samsung job was a 12.5 kW five zone system with AirTouch 5. The business or body corporate job was a 12.5 kW Mitsubishi Electric, also with AirTouch 5. The 14 kW jobs were homes, and the earlier one was a 14 kW Mitsubishi Electric ducted system. We match the unit to the building, so two houses can end up with different brands.

How does a ducted quote work for a D'Aguilar property?
We start with a free site inspection, then give you a fixed quote. We check the roof space, the rooms you want zoned and the size of the home. Most Sunshine Coast homes land between $11,000 and $18,000 installed, and larger homes can reach about $22,000.
Home size, zones and roof space drive the price, so we do not quote blind. D'Aguilar is within our service area, which runs from Caboolture to Noosa. Book the inspection on 1800 335 828 or through deltatemp.com.au, and bring any questions about brands or zoning. The quote you receive after the inspection is fixed.
What size ducted system suits a D'Aguilar home?
We size from the rooms, not the floor plan. Add up the heat load of every zoned room at about 150 W per square metre, then size the system at about 70% of that total. The zones are never all running flat out at once.
That is why a 12.5 kW system suits 5 zones, being 4 bedrooms plus an open kitchen, living and dining, about 120 m2 of zoned rooms. A 14 kW suits 6 zones, the same plus a media room or similar, about 130 m2. Our D'Aguilar installs sat at exactly those two sizes. The inspection adjusts for insulation, glass, ceiling height and orientation.

What do I need to know about return air and zone control?
Return air matters as much as the unit. For 10 to 14 kW ducted we use a 900 x 500 return grille, and for 16 kW and above a 900 x 550. Both are rules of thumb that we check on the day. AirTouch 5 then lets you switch zones on and off.
A return grille that is too small starves the unit of air. We check the return position at the site inspection, because it depends on where the roof space and ceiling allow it. AirTouch 5 is the zone controller we installed on most D'Aguilar jobs, and it lets you turn off rooms you are not using. Installations carry our 10 year workmanship warranty, with terms at deltatemp.com.au/warranty/.
