Fujitsu or Hisense is the brand question we hear most on the Sunshine Coast. Both make reliable reverse cycle air conditioners, and Delta Temp installs both as a Fujitsu Dealer and a Hisense Pro Dealer. Hisense usually costs less and carries a longer warranty, and Fujitsu is the premium pick.
Which is better, Fujitsu or Hisense air conditioning?
Neither is simply better. Fujitsu is the premium choice, with a strong reputation for quiet running and build quality. Hisense is the value choice, with a longer manufacturer warranty and a lower price for the same room size. Both are efficient reverse cycle systems that handle Sunshine Coast heat and humidity.
The honest answer is that installation quality matters as much as the brand. A well installed unit of either make will outlast a badly installed one. That is why our own 10 year workmanship warranty sits on top of whatever the manufacturer offers.
Because we deal with both, we have no reason to push you to one for our benefit.

How do the warranties compare?
Fujitsu carries a 5 year manufacturer warranty. Hisense carries a 7 year manufacturer warranty on parts and labour. On top of either, Delta Temp gives a 10 year workmanship warranty on the installation, so the fitting is covered for longer than the manufacturer covers the unit.
The manufacturer warranty covers the unit itself. Our warranty covers the work we did: the pipework, the electrical connection, the mounting and the commissioning. Both are worth having, and they cover different things.
Keep your systems serviced as the manufacturers require, because a missed service can put a warranty claim at risk.
Is Fujitsu worth the extra over Hisense?
It can be, if quiet running, finish and brand reputation matter to you. Fujitsu is often chosen for bedrooms, home offices and homes where the system runs most of the day. If the budget matters more, Hisense gives you the same type of comfort for less.
For a ducted system, the brand affects the outdoor unit, the indoor unit and the warranty length. The ducting, the zoning and the installation are the same either way. See the comparison of system types in ducted vs split for a Queensland home.
For splits, you can mix brands through the house. A Fujitsu in the main bedroom and Hisense units in the other rooms is a common and sensible mix.
Do Fujitsu and Hisense work with zone control?
Yes. Both brands suit ducted systems with AirTouch 5 zone control, which gives you a wall touchscreen and phone control and lets you switch zones on and off by room. Zone control is added at installation, so you choose it when you choose the system rather than later.
Zoning matters more for running cost than the badge on the unit. Cooling only the rooms you use is the biggest single saving on a ducted system.

How do I choose between them for my home?
Start with how the system will be used. Choose Fujitsu if quiet, premium finish and brand matter most. Choose Hisense if value and the longer warranty matter most. Then get the system sized correctly, because the right size for the house matters more than the brand name on it.
