How much does air conditioning service cost, including multiple units?

The cost of an air conditioning service on the Sunshine Coast depends on the system type, the number of units, how easy they are to reach and their condition. More units cost more in total, but booking them in one visit saves a trip. Tell us how many units and what type for an exact figure.

What decides the cost of an air conditioning service?

The biggest factor is the type of system. A wall mounted split is a simpler job than a ducted system. Ducted has a ceiling space unit, a return air grille, filters, ductwork and zones to check. Larger systems have bigger coils and filters, so they take more time.

Access and condition matter too. A unit on a second storey wall or in a tight roof space takes longer to reach. A system that has not been serviced for years, with blocked filters, a dirty coil or a clogged drain, needs more cleaning than one looked after each year. Humidity on the Sunshine Coast encourages mould and drain blockages. Salt air near the beach is hard on outdoor units.

Does the price go up with multiple units?

Yes, the total does. Every indoor unit needs its filters and coil cleaned and its drain checked. Every outdoor unit needs checking as well. So a home with four splits is more work than a home with one.

It is usually practical to book all units for the same visit. That means one trip instead of several. A multi split system, where several indoor units share one outdoor unit, is different again from separate systems. Mixed brands and ages can also change the job. The most accurate way to get a figure is to tell us how many units you have, what type they are and where they sit.

Is servicing a ducted system different?

It is. A ducted system has one outdoor unit and one indoor unit in the roof, with outlets in each room. Many have a zone controller such as AirTouch 5. The return air grille matters a lot. If it is undersized or clogged, airflow drops and the system works harder.

As a rule of thumb, we use a 900 x 500 return grille for 10 to 14 kW ducted systems and a 900 x 550 for 16 kW and above. If you are thinking about a new ducted system rather than a service, we do a free site inspection first. The quote is fixed after that inspection.

What does a service cover, and does it affect my warranty?

A good service covers cleaning or replacing filters, checking the indoor coil and drain, checking the outdoor unit, testing airflow and operation, and looking over the electrical connections and controls. The aim is to catch small problems before they become breakdowns in the middle of summer.

Manufacturer warranties often come with maintenance conditions, so check your paperwork. Fujitsu systems carry a 5 year parts and labour warranty and Hisense carry 7 years. Keeping a service record is a sensible habit either way.

How does Delta Temp handle service pricing?

We are based at 2/11 Abeles Street, Baringa, and we service the Sunshine Coast from Caboolture to Noosa. We don't service Gympie. We are QBCC licensed, ARC authorised and insured. We install brands including Fujitsu and Hisense.

We don't put a dollar figure on a web page, because the right number depends on your units. Call 1800 335 828 and tell us the number of units, the brand if you know it, and whether they are split or ducted. We also have a Comfort Club servicing plan, so ask us if regular servicing suits you.
